The target is to reduce the volume and width at the tail of wide boards to increase control and to smoothen the ride. Sailing in chop becomes much more comfortable!

Improved control and smooth ride make it more comfortable to go fast (up- and down-wind)
and help to increase the overall speed.
 
The Cut-Outs reduce volume in the rail,  which makes initiating jibes easier.
