2007
New challenges and opportunities faced Jason in 2007, with the first ever PWA World Cup in Cape Verde.
A less than satisfactory start left Jason with a battle ahead of him as he fought his way through the double elimination in some of the biggest surf ever seen in competition. After sailing 7, 30 minute, back to back heats â?? a feat of athleticism in itself (over 3.5 hours competition sailing) - Jason had secured his place in the final, eventually finishing 4th.

Soon after the surf gods and the stars aligned to bring together all the factors required for the infamous Backyards break on Oahu's North Shore to provide epic conditions.

2008
The Cape Verde PWA World Cup once again dominated the early months of 2008 with Jason once again securing a top 3 placing against the best of the best, in some of the finest conditions on the planet.

The Southern hemisphere then played host to Jason as he pursued huge waves on the South Island of New Zealand. Through cold waters, miles from major civilisation and in the hunting grounds of the Great White Shark, Jason found what he was looking for - Papatowai.
